On September 23, 2011, the CDC released a document that describes waterborne disease outbreaks in the US & Territories from 2007 - 2008. To see a copy of the report click here.

Leak Detection
speaker: Travis Spaeth
CUC's acting water and wastewater operations manager Travis Spaeth, PE, gave a presentation on the different methods for detecting leaks in water distribution systems. He also talked about an incident where CUC tracked down a 100+ gpm leak in As Matuis. The water from this leak had never surfaced so tracking it down took time. Once the leak was fixed, CUC saved enough water to provide Achugao and Tanapag with 24 hour water service (they had been on water hour rationing previously). Travis used several YouTube videos in his presentation. Links to those videos are below.

After Travis' presentation, we listened to two archived webcasts (from February 22, 2011) on leak detection practices from http//:www.virtualh2oevent.com.
