The following training classes were held in 2011 and 2012:
- Wednesday November 14, 2012: Current events: Hurricane Sandy, and water/wastewater issues. Main events: Gary Byrd from Hawaii Rural Water Association presents information on "Meter Types, Installation, and Flow Measurement for Water and Wastewater".
- Wednesday August 8, 2012: Current events: Lau Lau Bay Drive Low Water Crossings, CUC GWUDI Study; Main events: Manny Borja of DEQ explains in-ground wastewater disposal systems; MBR webcast; Managaha MBR; Lao Lao Bay Golf Resort MBR.
- Wednesday May 2, 2012: Current events was the main event this session: Garapan Emergency Sewer Line Repair; also webcast on inspection of water tanks.
- Wednesday February 29, 2012: Current events (Haiti cholera slowing down, Norovirus outbreak on Tinian); Bottled water companies in CNMI and how they are regulated; How reverse osmosis works; Using membrane filtration for pathogen removal.
- Wednesday November 9, 2011: Current events (Radionuclide rule sampling reminder, Haiti cholera continues, CDC release report on waterborne disease outbreaks in 2007-2008, Dengue fever outbreak in Marshall Islands), and guest speaker Travis Spaeth, PE of CUC on Leak Detections Practices and Experience from the Field.
- Wednesday July 13, 2011: Our Guest speaker this quarter was Gary Byrd from the Hawai'i Rural Water Association. The topic for this session was on Utility Policies and Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Wednesday May 11, 2011: Current events (Haiti final report on source of cholera outbreak, DEQ monitoring for radiation from Japan); Understanding Radiation; Radionuclides Rule; Radon.
- Wednesday February 2, 2011: Current events (Haiti cholera outbreak, reduced recommended fluoride levels in drinking water); Chemical applications and Chemical injection pumps - by Hawaii Rural Water Association; Energy Efficiency, T & T Electric, Hilo, HI.
