Derek Chambers Hurricane Sandy: Derek Chambers provided an overview of how the storm developed, where it traveled, and what kind of damage it did. Problems related to water/wastewater utilities were emphasized. A video from AWWA discussing how the WARN system was used to successfully to provide mutual assistance among utilities was also viewed.

Gary Byrd, of the Hawaii Rural Water Association presented information on the importance of metering flow (REVENUE!), and the different types of meters in use, when they should be used, what they should be used for, how they are installed, and how they should be maintained.
