CURRENT EVENTS: Elevated Nitrates in Saipan Groundwater - Derek Chambers
Derek Chambers describes the history of sampling for nitrates in the groundwater of Saipan, historical high results, and the recent (November 2017) highest ever result of 16.5 mg/l and the possible source of the contamination.

MAIN EVENT (1) : Public Health Engineering in Emergencies - NIck Schreiner
CUC Engineer Nick Schreiner discussed several of the projects he worked on during his 5 years with the non-profit NGO Doctors Without Borders. Projects discussed included a refugee camp at the international airport in Bangui, the capital of Central African Republic; a refugee camp near the border of Burundi and Tanzania; and an E Bola clinic in Liberia.

MAIN EVENT (3): American Samoa Water Systems - Derek Chambers
Derek Chambers traveled to American Samoa in March 2017 to provide technical assistance to American Samoa EPA Drinking Water personnel. In this presentation he describes three different types of water systems found in American Samoa - the large water utility operated by American Samoa Power Authority (ASPA); Village Water Systems; and water vending machines.
