Introduction to the Hawaii Rural Water Association

Jim provided an overview of the services provided by the HRWA. Circuit riders (trainers and technical assistance providers) from HRWA will be visiting the CNMI several times per year and will be available to provide assistance to PWS and waste water facilities. Response to a Community Wide Waterborne Outbreak

Operators learned about the 2008 Salmonella outbreak in Alamosa, Colorado. They learned about how the outbreak was first detected, how it was attributed to the Public Water System, and what steps were taken to disinfect the water system and correct deficiencies that may have lead to the outbreak.
