A brief update on Haiti's cholera epidemic was presented. It appears that cholera is going to be a problem in Haiti for several more years.
DEQ radiological monitoring equipment has been removed after about 3 months in service. No dangerous levels of radioactivity were detected from the Fukishima reactor problems in Japan in March.

Utility Policies and Procedures, and Standard Operting Procedures
speaker: Gary Byrd
Gary Byrd from the Hawaii Rural Water Association gave a presentation on utility policies and procedures and standard operating procedures.
This was one of our best attended classes in a while. In particular, CUC sent 36 staff to attend this training. We would like to thank Gary and the rest of the staff at Hawaii Rural Water for taking the time out of their busy schedule to travel to Saipan to provide much needed (and desired) water and wastewater utility training.
