Experience
Brett Gleitsmann joined RCAC in 2017. He supervises, supports, and coordinates field staff and their activities in Arizona and California; manages relationships with funders; and conducts outreach to philanthropic partners and state and federal agencies to maintain positive working relationships.

Mr. Gleitmann has more than 15 years of experience with rural infrastructure development and water utility operations and maintenance projects. Before joining RCAC, he spent 10 years working as a project manager for the Earth Institute at Columbia University, Development Alternatives Inc., and Millennium Promise, specializing in USAID-funded water, irrigation and environmental health projects in rural and peri-urban communities in Africa and the Caribbean. During this period, he designed and installed small-scale water distribution systems, and provided contract/budget management and reporting, technical proposal development, and client and donor relations. Mr. Gleitsmann has one year of corrosion engineering experience with water utility districts in California, and three years of community development experience as a Peace Corps volunteer in West Africa. He is also an experienced technical trainer and has provided training to large groups on water system design standards and mobile data collection. His educational background in Civil Engineering and Hydrology also provides him with the technical foundation to understand both source water protection issues and complex water and wastewater treatment systems.
