One of my first memories is a trip I took with my family to a river in the mountains of Panama. This was the start of a life-long love of water that would later turn into a passion for clean water and watershed conservation. In undergrad this led me to get a degree in chemistry as I wanted to approach this from the science side. After working in labs, I realized that while I love the science, lab work was not for me. I much more preferred talking about and explaining the science to people. So, I joined the Peace Corps to teach science. Since joining RCAC, I have worked to provide technical assistance and training to water and wastewater systems across California, Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam and CNMI. I train on a variety of topics from regulation basics to operations to board basics and on a blue moon finances. I’ve assisted utilities with their finances and conducting outreach. I enjoy helping others and am happy to help wherever I’m needed (or wherever will take me).
